Virtual CIO (vCIO)
A TSR executive who owns your technology roadmap, budget and vendor relationships, for businesses that need a CIO's judgement but not a full-time CIO.
What changes for you
A plan instead of a pile of quotes
A written technology roadmap tied to your business goals, so every purchase answers a question you already asked.
A budget you can defend
Annual IT budget planning with the return on each investment spelled out, and the year-end surprises taken out.
Vendors managed for you
One person who holds carriers, software and hardware vendors to their contracts, their renewals and their promises.
Leadership that reports to leadership
Executive reporting in plain language at a set cadence, so the owner or the board always knows where IT stands.

How it works
From the first call to steady state.
- 1
Assess
We review the current environment and sit down with leadership to understand where the business is going.
- 2
Plan
You get a roadmap and a budget: what changes, in what order, what it costs and what it returns.
- 3
Deliver
Your vCIO oversees the projects on the roadmap, whether TSR engineers, your own staff or a vendor does the work.
- 4
Review
Quarterly, monthly or weekly strategy reviews track progress and adjust the plan as the business changes.

Questions we get asked
How much of the vCIO's time do I get?
Three levels. Essential: quarterly strategy reviews, roadmap, budget planning, executive reporting, email and phone support. Advanced: monthly strategy meetings, project oversight, vendor management, technology assessment, priority support. Premium: weekly leadership meetings, on-site availability, modernisation and innovation programmes, 24×7 executive support.
Is vCIO part of a package?
It is included in Guardian, Co-Managed Guardian and Sentinel, and available as an add-on to Foundation. It is also available on its own if TSR does not run your day-to-day IT.
Do I need TSR to manage my IT as well?
No. Many vCIO engagements sit alongside an internal IT team or another provider. The vCIO gives that team direction, a budget and a voice with leadership.
How is this different from the quarterly business review?
Every package includes a quarterly business review. vCIO adds the roadmap, the budget, vendor management and a named person accountable for all of it between reviews.
What does the vCIO not do?
The vCIO is not the help desk and does not do hands-on engineering. Project work is scoped and quoted separately, or done by your own team under the vCIO's oversight.
